Mechanik2 Annual Calendar

How does an idea begin – as a sketch, a thought, a feeling? For me, it began with a promise. The moment I took over the project Mechanik2 Annual Calendar von Embassy Jewel AG, Lucerne, a vague notion became something immutable. It was as if the idea had been carved in stone. From that moment on, there was no turning back – only a path forward, shaped by the responsibility to carry on the original spirit of the MIH watch. What does consistency in design mean? What remains when all superfluous elements fall away?

Each day of this journey brought new encounters, obstacles, unexpected solutions. Some moments filled me with euphoria; others put me to the test. Yet precisely this tension between doubt and conviction gave the project its depth. From setbacks grew clarity; from shrinking circles emerged resolve.
I wanted to create something with the Mechanik2 that endures – a work embodying the values that carry me: clarity, constancy, honest craftsmanship.
How does one translate integrity into mechanics? How does precision become attitude? In the Mechanik2 Annual Calendar, I sought to show that beauty does not arise from excess but from omission. That time becomes tangible when respected.

The collaboration with watchmakers and suppliers was a quiet consensus among people who seek the genuine. Each individual brought respect, seriousness, and patience – those quiet virtues so rare in today’s world. Only a few truly understood what it was about. And that sufficed. Because depth requires no crowd but conviction.

Naturally, there were doubters — people who said, “That will never work.” But what is a vision worth if it provokes no resistance? Criticism was no obstacle but confirmation — a sign that we were treading unfamiliar ground. Those who dare new things must allow for irritation.

The bearers of the Mechanik2 understand this. They do not seek shine but substance. They recognize this watch as more than a tool for measuring time. It embodies an idea: the silence in the rhythm of time.

Those who wear the Mechanik2 Annual Calendar choose consciously — for attitude, independence, and a clear view. Perhaps you are now asking yourself the same question that has guided me:
