Traffic management systems​

User interfaces for traffic monitoring systems were developed for the Departments of Public Works of the Cantons of Zurich and Solothurn, with a clear focus on functionality, visual precision, and rapid information recognition in operational environments.

The work centered on the creation of a consistent iconography and color system, enabling law enforcement personnel to identify and interpret critical information within fractions of a second. The design reduces visual complexity, establishes clear hierarchies, and supports intuitive navigation across varying operational scenarios.

An essential part of the development process included color vision deficiency testing and perceptual validation. All critical states remain clearly distinguishable regardless of color perception. The result is a reduced, robust user interface that performs reliably under time pressure and in demanding conditions.
